The Rasmus’ Lauri makes his debute as a movie composer [Finland]

Black Roses, which will be released on next week, is not the only thing that has kept Lauri Ylönen busy. He also makes his debute as a movie composer this year with Blackout.

The thriller Blackout directed and written by JP Siili will get its premiere on 26 December. Some of the actors in the movie are Petteri Summanen, Irina Björklund, Jenni Banerjee, Mikko Leppilampi and Hannu-Pekka Björkman.

The producer Olli Haikka tells co-operation with Ylönen started naturally.

- We have projects in common, which started the discussion. He read the manuscript and showed director some themes, which were quite impressive. He simply fitted perfectly well in this movie, tells Haikka.

According to Haikka a couple of songs from The Rasmus’ new album will be heard in the movie too.

- Of course it’s different to work for a director comparing to compose songs for oneself. Lauri has adopted this new role well and he’s a movie-lover too. Working together went perfectly greatly and I must say I wanted processes like this more, says Olli.
