This should cause some delight within the preferentially black-dressed fandom/following: The new record by The Rasmus – Black Roses – comes close to the 2004 released payoff creation “Dead Letters”, musically and stylistically. So chances are not small that the stupid discussions about why singer Lauri Ylönen dyed his hair blond will ebb away soon and the fans will concentrate back on the music. After all, it wasn’t any different for the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1999.
A second “In The Shadows”
Already the first single “Livin’ In A World Without You” shows the matchless pop qualities of the troop from Finland. Friends of hard guitar sounds may be momentarily agitated about the noticeable usage of synthies. But the track’s long-term effect might actually turn out as a second “In The Shadows”, which brought the break-through for the quartet.
Well-rehearsed and grown together even more
You wouldn’t believe it, but the still youthful appearing troop is already moving upto their 15th band anniversary. You can hear this experience in the new songs, like for example in the also pretty catchy “10 Black Roses”. Unlike other genre colleagues, the band seems compactly well-rehearsed (like, they’re perfectly concerted) and it looks like they have used the 3 years’ break since the last record for an anew internal process of growing together.
Chart walkover guaranteed
Lauri and Co. did the recordings in Helsinki and Nashville with producer Desmond Child (Kiss, Alice Cooper) after they’ve been waiting patiently for inspiration to come on a small Greek island with great food and delicious wine. As it appears, a lot more combos should be sent there, because the result featuring 12 songs is definitely worth a look. Anyway, there is nothing to conflict a chart walkover.
