The mini press conference [Mexico]

Seated, in a great company musicians and press, begun the press conference with Lauri (the thoughtful), Pauli (the energetic), Eero (the serious) and Aki (the however) and here’s what happened us.

What can you say us about your past concert made in April?
Lauri: It was one of the greatest concerts than we have given. In Mexico, we have seen that we have one of the most big bases of fans in the world and for that reason we made the special edition for them, like a evidence.

This is your third visit to Mexico, What had of special for you the audience?
Eero: Kisses… besos (in Spanish).
Lauri: A girl raised yesterday to the stage, when we made our show, and she kissed me in the midst of the performance. She had so much adrenalin that the security persons, two big guys, they not could remove her. The little girl fought, pgh!…

You played finally in U.S.A, What about that?
Eero: We played there three weeks, opening for the Lost Prophets group, and making twenty shows… we had a great reception in small places, maybe like three hundred persons every night…. We never had been in U.S, so we traveled by several states like California, Texas… many places, which was interesting. And also we noticed that we have few fans because after of show they came with us and they said to us that it had been a great show and that they had bought the CD, it which out to sell tomorrow (October 10th).

Are you interesting in that CD have success in that country? because is hard for the Finnish groups be accepting in U.S.
Lauri: Of course, is a big country, but so that something in the American market happens, we must be making tours constantly. We’ll return when the CD has a time outside.
Eero: Also, I believe that he is better for The Rasmus thus we are growing slowly until being great. We have a small base of fans and isn’t reason to be hopeless because it will be growing little by little. It’s not good for the band have only one hit, be great and after disappear.

The Rasmus has done what in 70′s it did Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple and in 80′s Def Leppard and Bon Jovi? Have you a place thus?
Lauri: Of no way!!
Eero: I think that it’s something different to which we do. That is very complicated for the way that it happened. It’s hard for any band have a successful crossover like Guns N’ Roses, The Beatles or Zeppelin. But I think that for the people that come to our concerts, for example, or for the boys that consider to The Rasmus like something very special for them, I’d like that after of 10 or 15 years, when they listen to us, they say: Oh, that song I feel so much in my heart!! That is important. Like happened with The Beatles.

What do you think about the most of audience that assist to your concerts in Mexico has been teenagers and kids?
Lauri: Oh! It’s fine…. When I was 13 years old, I remember that I used to be fan of many bands. I liked, sincerely, the music that they played. And the times don’t have changed…

Many of the teenagers don’t understand your lyrics and, however, they sing it…
Eero: I think that to the people likes listen to music, and obtain the emotion and the feeling that this one generates. It is like with Nirvana, the people sang the lyrics and they really didn’t understand what they said. But that did not matter ‘cause they had the spirit. Did not hurt to anybody, although everybody tried to know what it means. It were emotional songs. I think that to the young people assist to a concert for be together and take out their energy to the music, that is what happened in Salon 21 with us. Is like a religion when being alongside of many people.

What thing do you miss of being fans of the music?
Pauli: That we don’t be so innocent already, because now that we play in a group we know how are the tours and how you enter to the recording studio. Thus that we now know more of that. So, that is changing the perspective of which thought about time.

Where you buy your crow feathers, Lauri?
Lauri: All are a gift.

But you use many in your tours, right?
Lauri: I obtain all from the fans. I began with the idea 8 years ago.

With that loss of innocence, what thing you don’t accept now from the musical industry?
Eero: I don’t know… the businesses are businesses… all the bands want to be played in the radio and that is impossible because they’re many… if you want to sell water to people, must be the best… is the same thing with the bands, the competition it’s hard… if a musician have the luck of triumph, well…
Pauli: For me the better would be that the money didn’t interfere, but that is impossible because continuity without it could not be had.
Lauri: There are bands that are together only for the money, is the bad thing…
Aki: Many bands stay together for the money. But the band’s members usually they do not sleep together as they used to do it, because they fight all the time, only they get together for be on the stage, they don’t have fun already.

Will you work with the same producers for the next album?
Eero: We don’t know yet… we needed to finish the tour in December, to take days of rest for us… now we have a slight idea of how will be the songs and we want to prove something new, but we don’t know…

Do you think sing in Spanish?
Pauli: One week ago we was talking about it, but our Spanish stinks out. We’ll have to practice it… to study well.. we spoke a very shit Spanish (laughs).

Eero recorded a CD as vocals, He’ll promote it in his rest?
Eero: Oh yes!!! I have a second band in where I sing and I play the bass… is different to The Rasmus… I’ll see if we sign in Finland… but my priority is The Rasmus.

In this moment, Eero said to Cesar, label manager of the record company, that he brings the video of Immortal song and that he’ll show it to the press for it’s premier in Mexico. Such video it filmed by himself and now it’s transmitting in the specialized TV channels. There they were the press with them seeing it and congratulating to Eero by his work. When finishing, we say good bye to them because they’ll take a long time to be back.
