The Rasmus’s gothic rock [Argentina]

Another of the bands that is going to arrive to Argentina thanks to this new edition of the Personal Fest 2006 is The Rasmus, a world phenomenon that started in Finland a little bit more than 10 years ago, when the singer Lauri and his three mates were only 16 years.
Today, they have their 6th Cd, “Hide From The Sun”, the successor of the successful “Dead Letters”, that projected them to USA and the rest of the planet, thanks songs like “Guilty” and a gothic rock that you can also see in their look.
In one of the unusuals free days in Helsinki, Lauri gave us some information in person and told us that at once he’ll return to the road, playing in México and in the USA before coming back to Buenos Aires.
“This sudamerican tour is almost the last we are going to do with the material of the album, because we have been a long time playing everywhere and we want to stop to make up new songs to enter to the studios in march. We have a lot of fresh ideas because luckily we write quite a lot when we’re on tour, traveling by bus with a little recorder. Being on tour give us inspiration…you know new people and you live new expierences. Personally I always prefer being on tour than record, because in the studio there’s a lot of stress.
Anyways, we’re not the Guns N’Roses and we don’t spend months and months on the studio, we just prepare well the things and we end up with a very clear sight.
Don’t you feel that you’re a case quite unusual in rock?Because, you rised up likie a phenomenon being teens and you kept on growing and making satisfactory progress…
“Maybe is something unic, because The Rasmus is the only band I’ve been in. In general all the musicians come from other bands…we don’t”
And the show? How will it be?
“Most of it will be the material of the last album, but we also will do an accoustic set to improve a little bit and people will like it. We are very delighted coming back”.
