Lauri relax in a boat [Slovakia]

Kamarát: Are there any questions which you absolutely dont like?
Lauri: Hardly talk about my private life and about my relations. It is my well protected secret and it means a lot for me to keep it away furthest from the public.

Kamarát: Into what music category would you arrange your last album “Hide From The Sun”?
Lauri: Truly, I dont know. Songs on this album all came from my own emotional world, which is partly also negative. But I want to put up those positive things. On this album there are also more pop pieces, which may affect completely diffenet. I think we have made valid selection of the songs.

Kamarát: Tell us something about song “Night after night – Out of shadows”.
Lauri: It is sequel of In the shadows. I wanted to continue in this story, so it was necessary to write a new song. When I wrote “In The Shadows” I was down and searching for help. I had many questions but couldnt find convenient answers. There were my private things behind it, which do not belong on publicity.

Kamarát: Your album Dead Letters was a big success. Do you think you will continue with Hide From The Sun ?
Lauri: Yeah, those songs are simply good. We made sure about it during our tour in the end of 2005 and the tour was better than we were expected. I was little stresfull before we saw reactions of the audience., how would they react on our new album. Because I am such a dreamer and I wanna go further and higher. My big dream for example is to reach success in the USA. From previous album we sold here over 180.000. Which is not bad, but not enough for Amerika. Take the lead in USA is for every european country very complicated, like Coldplay and some others did.

Kamarát: Tell us where did you create songs for your last album?
Lauri: All were made on our tour, everything was much quicker than it used to be. We were together all the time and everyone could carry one’s point. During one such a long tour so many things happened that are worth to write about!

Kamarát: But also bad things happened to you. On Reading festival in England you had to stop the concert after 20 minutes, after some people started to throw some things at you…
Lauri: Yes, that was absolutely the worst point of our tour. I used to be a big fan of this festival and also a viewer. When they asked us to play there it was like ma dream came true. I was so happy about it and I was loking forward to it. And suddenly – people throw at you everything they have under theire hands! It was mind-bending and my heart hurts cause of that. I still dont know what was going on in heads of those people. While I was standing on a stage I thought that 50.000 people hate me and they wanna kill me. On the other side this experience brought us back on the earth, and I hope next year we will appear on this festival again. I never give up!

Kamarát: You live in Helsinki for so long. Are you happy there?
Lauri: Yeah, this place is so peacefull. When I just think about that I would live in Tokio, New York or London, it make me feel sick. Life there is just too fast for me. Helsinki is a small city with a half million inhabitants and it takes about 15 minutes to get into forest. Here I have a little house just in a shore of a lake. If I want I just sit into a boat relax and enjoy the scenery. That is my small healing world…
