Interview with Eero and Lauri [Portugal]

Favourite song of Hide From The Sun
Generally, our favourite song it’s “Immortal”, as it was recorded diferently and one year before the others. It’s a very diferent and interesting song, besides, concerning the guitar and bass, it’s the richest. We (Lauri and Eero) can’t complain. (laughs)

Personalized studio
We have a studio near Helsinki, which is great! It has several places, where we can relax, rehearsal, meditate, talk, we even have a fun room!

Relationship with the fans
In that matter, the band says “Everything is possible…”

Funny Episode
Pauli tells us : “We had a major party in our studio and I fall asleep on top of my guitar bag, and then I started to snore loudly. Lauri, as joker as usual, points his microphone at me! With all that noise, it seems like we were in a haunted house! I woke up, of course, and they were all laughing on the floor! Oh well…”

How is the band doing
This is our climax as a band. Last year, we had been in 29 countries, which meant 200 days away from home and now we are doing it again! (laughs) But that’s a good sign, it means that we keep recording albuns and have a job. However, we always get some time for ourselves. It’s dream come true!

What do they think about Portugal
Our portuguese fans, they always welcome us in the right way; we love this country! People here, they have an open heart, they are very friendly and warm. This time, we let some friends from here, to get to know the “April 25th” bridge and the statue of Christ. Then we spend our afternoon on “Parque das Nações” a park. Oh, and we love your beaches ! It’s fun to see you guys, on this season with cold, while we can’t stand it because it’s too hot for us, comparing our hometown weather. This is very cool ! Let us see what will happen on Oporto…

The Rasmus vs Him
In Finland, we don’t talk much about that competition. We aren’t rivals. We find that situation quite normal, because we have some things in common and that’s all. Still, we conclude that we show more fantasy. Lauri, isn’t a friend of Ville Valo, but he had already met with him some times and they treat each other very well. Those rumors are rubbish!

What about Finland?
Obviously it’s a great country, with good and bad aspects. It has a gorgeous nature and people are very honest. On the other hand, our people is very shy and rare when they talk about their problems or feelings. Besides, they drink a lot and there is some politics and social-economics issues quite relevant left behind. We live on hope…

- … a fan, when she was meeting Aki, kept saying “I’m dreaming, I’m dreaming ! “…

Lauri photos: Lauri in the everyday life: people always wonder if the singer puts his feathers and make-up in a normal day. And he says: “It depends on my mood, but I can do everything…”
Ema’s photo: on Ema’s 2005 they were voted as “The best finnish band”. And they came with their usual style: always sui generis. As usual , the drummer Aki Hakala, shows us his good mood.
