The Rasmus video shoot in Germany… We were there! [Mexico]

Exclusive! The Rasmus, the secrets about their CD
The Rasmus comes with a darker and vibrant production, with an obvious influence in eighties music, metal rhythms and hard rock, that surely will make your heart beat faster! The album will pop out this September 12th, but POR TI called to Finland, and in the other side of the line was Lauri, who answered all our questions. Get comfortable and read!

Soon will be out Hide From The Sun, how do you feel about it?
Happy and very excited! Is always cool to have a new album under your arm, promoting it, share it with the people…everything!

How could you describe this CD?
Mmm… Is a little bit darker than Dead Letters, the lyrics of the songs and the melodies play with the vibes, with the mix of light and shadows, between hide and find. It’s hard to describe, you have to listen it!

Who influenced you at the time to write?
All this months during the tour with the guys, were too wild! (Laughs). I saw many contrasts and I experimented loony things, like Mexico’s guided tour to the pyramids! Also influenced that this time we record in Stockholm, so we couldn’t go to home after sessions, as we did the last times.

And how that affected the album?
We were like a true band, and the work become longer ‘til the morning, while we dinner or went out to a bar. I think that the best ideas came in the normal activities.

In this new album, which songs do you like?
To be honest, everyone! But if I have to choose one, I stay with the first single, No Fear, who talks about confronting the life with courage. Also I love Shot, who have a great sound and Night After Night.

Let’s go back for a moment to the past, when The Rasmus was starting, and with the boys you started to dream about to take out Finland your music, to the world. What were you thinking?
I remember an afternoon when we were sit in the border of a lake, thinking how would it be going out in a tour in Europe, signing stuff and all that. So, we promised that someday we would be famous…

And you already are! Plus, you still together…
Yeah, and it’s been fantastic to share experiences so incredible with my soul friends.

In Mexico you have a lot of fans, when are you going to come to see us?
Next year, we go surely! Wait for us!

In the maroon circle: Why they chose a butterfly for the cover art of the CD?
“Because its a beautiful and mysterious animal. You can’t know what it thinks, keeps a secret!” Lauri told us.

The secrets behind the sun
POR TI traveled to Berlin, Germany to watch as an exclusive the filming of No Fear, the new Rasmus’ video. That’s right girl, you could only find this pictures here. Enjoy!
In the video, thousands of black butterflies surrounds The Rasmus and they still play as anything. Why? To show they don’t have any fear from life!
The video has as a background story a girl’s life that has to deal with the problems with no fear, despite that in her surroundings a lot of accidents take place!

Photo comments:
- On July 9th, pretty earlier, The Rasmus started to work.
- The taping was longer, but Lauri never looked tired, to the opposite.
- Lauri dropped the radio only to tape. He was checking everything.
- The boys had a good chemistry with the production team.
- Aki dropped the start sign between shoot and shoot. The kid knocks so hard the drums!
- The set was an earlier twentieth century factory, who stills have some machines.
- The clip was from Jörn Heitman, their head’s director.

The things that wasn’t seen
- The upper side from the set, was also part of the No Fear’s scenario.
- Aki and Lauri were joking before the makeup session.
- That was the original set from the girl’s room. At the end, only was left the butterflies collection.

The Rasmus is back with all to the music scene. They rock!
