Interview with Eero and Lauri [Sweden]

Finally. After the big mega hit Dead letters the Rasmus will now release their new album “Hide From The Sun” and of course Okej is there to talk with the finnish charming troll and in same time the guys tells us what keeps them on the ground, “I have been mediating about 6 years,” Eero says.
When Okej visits The rasmus at a hotel room in Stockholm Pauli, the guitarist sits on the floor with a guitar at his knee.
The other guys sits in the sofa and Lauri says the melody Pauli plays now very much alike can be a new Rasmus hit.
“The entire album is some stuff we’ve done while we were out on tour. Just like Pauli do now is exactly how the whole album came up. I always have a note book wherever I go where I write small sentences or words that I just take somewhere. Then you just have to work with the pieces,” explains the singer. “All our albums have been like a diary for me and this one is about the roller coaster it has been lately.”
It’s not strange that Lauri thinks that it has been up and down with the big sucess they had with Dead letters and In the shadows. They’ve become very sucessful not only here in sweden, but many other countries as well. The question is how do you handle this fame. Eero has the answer.
“This really has helped me a lot. Normally I am a person with strong opinions, but this have made me take a step bacj.”
“We’ve tried it too, but personally it’s nothing for me. I am way too hectic for this,” Aki says.
“Maybe that is why you should do it,” Lauri points out.
The single “No Fear” is already out but “Hide From The Sun” have many good stuff at least if you can believe them.
“My favourite song is Sail away;” Lauri says. “I play acoustic guitar there,” he says and at once Pauli begun to play the melody on the guitar.
“I like Immortal. It has a special feeling;” Eero say.
“We wanted to get a harder feeling on the album with guitar, bas and drums, but in the same way we wanted the song and melody to be soft,” Lauri says. The melodys are kinda soft, but the lyrics are still very dark.”
A typical the rasmus album then and Aki promise. “The ones who liked Dead letters won’t be dissappointed.”
