Interview with Aki about Siamin Tytöt [Finland]

1. With Jaska we had played music to Mallus’ earlier thing, Bigbang and he asked to go to the Siam girls test shootings. I hadn’t really acted anywhere before. I went there just of my curiosity. I thought that I should give it a try.

2. I graduated from Tapiola high in 1999. Now I play drums in The Rasmus and the future might go along with music stuff.
I remember one good mistake from the shooting. It was in a scene, where a witch is gathering nettles on a hill and Javelot comes to Zadaria. I had to land down the hill, to where Javelot was but I slipped and fell out of the picture, I slept down the whole hill and when I reached the bottom I stood up with straight face and said my line: “We have no weapons at all.”

3. Aki tells about the role of the witch: A witch is a mysterious, mystic character, who is a bit of going foe mead. The witchy feeling came mostly from the costumes.

4. What was it like to act for the first time and a mystic withces role?
It was pretty difficult, because a witch is not a real human. With Mallu we talked about that pretty much, that what kind of a type that witch could be. And then I started to think it myself. Mallu asked me, that as what kind of character do I see the witch and I thought that mostly it was this mysterious and a little bit distant person. The making of the witches’ mask took probably the longest time. Every day we had to put the normal make-up but then also we had to draw all the tattoos to my hands.
The best thing at filming, was the amazing crew. The waiting wasn’t so fun. The get-to-know weekend at Suvisaari was cool!
