From Finland, with lot of energy to give to all of their fans. They were in a good mood, they gave lot of effort and quality in the show.
Sala Arena, Madrid, 7 December 7th. Maybe it’s not the best day to play ’cause everybody’s take their holidays but fans from the guys couldn’t fail them on the gig that the band gave in one of the smaller salas, but with better acoustic of Madrid. The show started 5 minutes before time, the guys went out on stage and they told us with their show that they are in their best moment and improving everyday.
Like they’ve always showed us The Rasmus like Spain very much and we notice it. Lauri has learnt to say “Buenas noches, Madrid” perfectly and all the members of the band were smiling.
All we could see they felt comfortable.
Live
They started with Guilty, their last single that they played so good and the next from their famous Dead Letters. In the middle of the show came the best of all. All them sat and played their calmer songs, like Funeral Song. Songs like In my life, Still Standing couldn’t lack. In addition, they sang a new song that let us all shocked by the good feeling. To end the show, they played In The Shadows, the song that gave them international fame.
Gotta emphasize the quality of their sound, thinking that Madrid has just few salas where you can enjoy 100%. The only critic we can do is that they had not improvisation in their sound, ’cause lot of the songs sounded in the same way that in the album. But it was a so cool gig. An anecdote was when Eero sand the chorus from “Noche de paz” (Silent Night) in the middle of the show.
The big mistake
The organization of the show made a big mistake leaving outside the fans who were under age, but for the band’s performance all we can say is…Olé!!
The interview:
The band have just put in sale a complete DVD with their best videos, hundreds of photos and other surprises. We talked about this with Lauri and Eero.
LOKA: What can you tell us about Live Letters?
Lauri: We thought about it during our tour ’cause we saw DVDs from bands like AC/DC, Muse, Nightwish, … and we realized how interesting is things before and later from a show for the fans. So we decided to record a live show we had in Swiss the last summer and to include extra material too, like videos of the band.
LOKA: How many clips have you included in? How have you selected them?
Lauri: I think there are 5 videos and 5 making of. They are the ones that we like most and we’ve colaborated on them with the director. For example, we are very proud of Guilty video. The director had worked with bands like Linkin Park and System of a down and that makes us feel that we’re at the same level that them and it pleases us. The rest of the clips have been done by very young people and we’ve recorded them in EEUU, Cuba, Finland…
LOKA: During the recordings of the videos, some anecdote happened to you?
Lauri: A few. We recorded a video in Finland, very hard work ’cause it was so cold. It was like 5 deegres under zero and we were like machines during 12 hours. When we stopped, the only thing we could do was to shiver.
LOKA: About Finland…can you tell us some good things about your country?
Eero: I love Finland. And Helsinki, our capital town is a small city with lot of culture and a fabulous musica scene. In adittion, is a place where you’re always in contact with the nature.
But it’s true that in the winter is very cold and dark and sometimes I look for hotter places.
LOKA: Do you wanna tell something more?
TR: Of course. The Rasmus wanna wish everybody a Merry Christmas.
+ Information:
The DVD has lots of live and studio photos. “We like see them too, ’cause in that way we remind out trips all over the world. I’m nostalgic when I see how young I was 2 years ago” says Lauri.
