Rock with a Finnish touch [Mexico]

Thanks to bands as THE RASMUS, this european country can say that music is in his list of exports.
Some countries became global icons for things such as food, art, arquitecture or natural resources.
Finland thanks to bands as The Rasmus can soon become well known because of the massive production of successful rockers.
With 5.8 million people and 338 km of land, this country that shares border with Russia, has included rock in its list of export products among the electronic industry, chemestry and metals.
One of the “guilty” persons of promoting Finand is Lauri Ylönen, lead singer of The Rasmus the band that has had success way beyond his country with hit singles as: “In the Shadows” and “Guilty”, he talks about how the world is starting to look at Finland because of the music wave that is becoming from there.
The music carrer of this band begins when they were in High School in Helsinki and decided to leave aside the books and carry their musical instruments so they could change the music made in their country.
A decade later TR adventure continues, but now they are world known because of their songs and have won several awards including some Grammy in Finland, gold records and so on.
“I quit school, I made a sacrifice to have what I have now: freedom to play the guitar every day, instead of working in something else” says the singer.
But what’s the reason that this black-wearing artists cautivate audiences around the world?
Lauri says that their formula has been to put into songs the people feelings.
“Our songs are based in reality, in the feelings and emotions we have lived as a band, also personal matters, and I think this are common things that people can relate to and they do” says the Björk fan.
“I think that we motivate people this way so they can move on in their lives, make the sacrifices they need to get to their goals”, he added.
Another Finnish band that has catch the world’s attention is Apocalyptica, the band wich Lauri recorded the song “Bittersweet”, melody in wich also participated Ville Valo of the also finnish band HIM.
The page of the Center of Music Information in Finland puts The Rasmus in the third position in the category of popular music of that country just behind Nightwish and HIM.
