Naked fountain frolics, snake blood and feathered butt cheeks! Don’t be fooled by their gloomy faces, THE RASMUS know how to party!

Is being in a rock band all about late nights and a bad behaviour?
Aki: Last week, we had three days off but usually we are always working hard.
Eero: I don’t drink anymore, I quit six years ago and usually I don’t go out.
Lauri: We just came from Asia where we went out and tasted a snake-blood drink. They take the blood and the poison in snakes’ fluids and then mix it with alcohol, or else it’s dangerous poison. If we were going to die, it wouldn’t be the coolest way to do it, but it would be remembered, I guess!

Who in the band most needs their beauty sleep?
Eero: We all need sleep!
Lauri: If we are tired we can be moody. We are human beings so have bad days.
Aki: And if someone has a huge hangover, we will tease them and hide their passport or something!

Have you been caught by the paps?
Aki: All the bad things, we do in our hotel rooms away from the cameras!
Pauli: David Beckham also did that!
Eero: That girl got a fortune for telling her story – it’s a good business area!

Do you get swamped by fans on the razzle?
Eero: We have a good bodyguard – Pauli!
Lauri: I enjoy meeting people, if they are not too ‘Arrghhh’ in my face all the time. It’s nice if everyone wants to buy me a drink, though!

What’s the best party you’ve ever been to?
Aki: Nowadays, I like home parties. At Lauri’s place this year we had good music, lots of wine and good friends. We are not in Finland much but the best parties are with our real friends.

Do you trust your mates to large it in your house?
Aki: One time, I had a home party and the oven door broke because my friends were rolling around on it.
Lauri: A friend of mine was once on my bed with this girl and two of the bed legs broke. After, I had to sleep with my legs on the floor and my head up high!
Eero: The same guy who did that was also once dancing on a bar with a feather in between his ass cheeks!
Lauri: He took the feather from my hair and then put it in his ass!

Ever embarassed yourself?
Lauri: We used to swim in the public fountains at the end of the night when the bar was closed, ha – ha! The cops don’t like that.
Aki: We would be completely naked, yeah!
Lauri: I think we could get arrested but there are very nice cab drivers, so if we want to swim, they wait for us and then drive us to the next place. Last summer we went to the beach and the taxi driver was an hold man who came swimming with us in his boxers!

Have you ever insulted someone by mistake?
Eero: I always do that because I can’t control what I say. We have this saying in Finnish that you ‘Let frogs out of your mouth’. It means that you say bad things without meaning tol.

Has anyone poured a drink over you for being rude?
Lauri: I once got a pint on my head. I was in a bar and I’m not sure it was meant for me, but it was scary – and a pint of glass is heavy!

What’s your advice for recovery the next day?
Aki: A steam bath would be very nice!
Lauri: Yes, or more of the same. Carry on partying!

Who do The Rasmus wanna revel with?
Lauri: Leonard Cohen. I would talk to him all night about music.
Pauli: I want to catch up with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Aki: Muse would be cool.
Eero: And Slash from Gun’s N’ Roses would make it a proper party!
