The Rasmus expose the darker side of humanity in their latest video.
The Rasmus invited Kerrang onto the set of their video for their forthcoming single “Guilty” in Los Angeles in May.
The video features performance footage interspersed with an unsetting storyline about a photographer who has the ability to expose people’s secrets.
“The guy takes photosof couples and politicians”, says frontman Lauri. “As the pictures develop, they show something else about the person. It shows their hidden fears, the skeletons in their closets, dark things that no-one would ever know”.
It’s not a service you’d get from your local Boots one hour service, then…
“We actually make a strong point”, Lauri continues, “Politicians can seem doing good but they could easily be a racist, and no-one would ever know”.
Despite a string of performances in impressively plush promotional videos, the Finnish frontman does not see himself following in the rock star-turned-the spian footsteps of Jon Bon Jovi or Marilyn Manson.
“I would never be an actor”, he shrugs, “I would find it really difficult to try to be someone else”.
The Rasmus return to the UK this week for two consecutive, sold-out shows at the London Astoria on June 25 and 26.
“I remember watching HIM play at the Astoria and thought that one day we’ll play there”, laughs Lauri. “Now we’ve got two sold-out shows there. It’s so werid. English fans know how to drink. They let loose!”.
The band are also confirmed to play on the Main Stage at the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds in August.
“I can’t wait”, smiles Lauri. “I’ve been out there as a tourist a couple of times and it was really incredible. This is really going to be the summer of our lives”.
The band’s new single, “Guilty” will be released on July 25 through Island.
