  • The Rasmus, say hello to Europe’s fastest rising band… [UK]

Lauri Ylönen, frontman with Finland’s The Rasmus, sits in the bar of an expensive West London hotel room, smoking Marlboro lights and drinking European lager, talking as a story unfolds around him. Sitting thin and quietly charismatic, the singer tells his tale of how he got here and why it is he’s talking to you. His band (the name of which has no English translation, rather it just “sounds good”) have recently released their 5th album, Dead Letters, a record that has taken the European continent by force, making the top 10 in the UK, …read more »

  • “Dead Letters” review [UK]

    Dead Letters review
    KKKK
Classy fifth album for Finnish rockers.
Proof that perseverence can pay off, almost 10 years into their career, The Rasmus are finally making headlines outside of their home country with their hugely melodic but defiantly European pop-metal sound. Dead letters is an album of esay and immediate hooks that, at just over 39 minutes in length, …read more »

  • Music is for give hope [Spain]

The band was formed in 1994…What has changed since then?
Lauri: When we began we were younger. In the high school there were special people, with weird looks, weird hair…and they still are my friends. At the beginning we wanted to play a lot of different styles. It was funk, rock, rap.. all mixed.. and every style was a mess. Now we do rock with melodies … the melody has always been there. I think in a sense the new album is a little sad, a melancholy album. …read more »

He could just as well be making reference to himself. …read more »
