The Rasmus goes worldwide!

After great success in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, The Rasmus now has the chance to break big time in Europe with the new album “Dead Letters”. The Rasmus’ record company Playground Music Scandinavia has made a licensing deal with a German Major label – MotorUrbanDefJam Group (a label under Universal Music) for the world outside of Scandinavia, Island, Baltic States, Russia and Italy. (In Italy, The Rasmus is licensed to Edel Italy and in Russia to the label partner Soyuz.)
 
It was after a concert at Tavastia Club in Helsinki that Daniel Lieberberg, A&R at MotorUrbanDefJam Group, decided to conclude the deal. The first release is the single “In The Shadows”, which will be released in Germany this summer.
“This is a great chance for The Rasmus to reach a big international audience and give them a well deserved breakthrough in Europe, starting in Germany”, says Lars Tengroth, the band’s A&R at Playground Music, “I look forward to working together with the nice people at MotorUrbanDefJam Group, they seem to know what they are doing and they are already totally in love with the music”.
